Book, Song, Body

Happy Leap Year! We get an extra day this year, so try and do something fun or that you wouldn't normally do. And if you know a Leap Year Baby, make sure you wish them a happy birthday and maybe even take them out- after all, they won't get to celebrate on their actual birthday for another 4 years.

BOOK- Back in December, I wrote about the book Stuff White People Like, which you can read about here. This weeks book, is the follow up, Whiter Shades of Pale.

Like the first book, this is a funny book. It's a collection of short essays on stuff that white people like. Unlike the first book, the stuff is broken down by location- Seattle, Toronto, New York, Denver, etc.  Like the first book, this book tells you what white people like, why they like it and how you can use this knowledge to befriend the white person.

Another easy, fun and funny read. Also, surprisingly accurate!

SONG-  Instead of a song this week, I'm going to let you know about an insanely talented Canadian singer, Nikki Yanofsky. Nikki is a jazz singer from Montreal and I think she's 18.  She. Is. AMAZING.

Here's a cover she did of Forget You, which isn't a jazz song but still a great job:

Here's Nikki doing a cover of  Ella Fitgerald's Lullaby of Birdland:

So talented! Def check out some of her music on itunes. She's one of my favourite artists.

BODY- I have mentioned many times that I LOVE Pinterest! I was going through some of the recent pins of the people I follow the other night and came across this:

I thought I would share this. I know this is the 'Starter Exercise Plan' and it is a great starting point for people who do not workout a ton and want to workout more. But I find it's also a great plan for people who do workout as well. It's something quick that you can do on a day that you are super busy and don't have time to hit the gym.
