Hey, It's Ok!

That I started a new job in March. I think I have finally found a work environment that not only aligns with my personal beliefs and what I'm looking for in a workplace culture, but also truly values their employees and invests in the wellbeing and happiness of their employees.

To be over this weather! It is June and we are still waiting for the warm, sunny Spring weather to arrive.

That I'm heading to New Brunswick this summer!! I have never been and I'm excited to explore part of a new Province!! My trip will be quick- one a couple of days- but I'm hoping to see and experience as much as I can.

To be going to see Luke Bryan in September!! Love him, and love (and appreciate) that I was able to get tickets!!

To not watch the Super Bowl. Not even for the commercials- which they play different, less exciting commercials in Canada. Or for the half time show- which according to social media, was lackluster and underwhelming.

That I'm wonder how Beyoncé is going to keep track of people being vegan. She offered a lifetime supply of concert tickets to anyone who turns vegan. How do you track that? Can you be vegan for a couple of months to get tickets to one concert and then revert back? Is it on the honour system? How does this work...I need to know, but I don't need to know badly enough that I'll look it up.

To not be productive all the time and not feel guilty about it. Sometimes you just need a few days-or a week- of doing nothing after weeks of being discipline and hustling.

That I like the taste of the candy conversation hearts. I know that a lot of people think they are gross and taste like chalk...but I actually like them. But only the original ones- the knock off or no name brand ones don't taste good.

To be disappointed in Fox and their broadcast of Rent Live. The actor playing Roger broke his foot the night before during a rehearsal, so Fox decided to broadcast a recording of the rehearsal with the last 15 minutes live, instead of accommodating the actor and broadcasting live. Fox did a HUGE disservice to the audience and everyone who worked on the production.

That I am behind on replying to text messages, emails, and Facebook messages. As in, it's been a few days since I've checked and/or replied to anything. Sometimes you juts need to be on a break with your phone/social media.

To want to be somewhere warm!! I am done with the snow and the cold and the winter driving conditions. Give me sun, sand, and sea!!

That February starts on Friday. This month has, thankfully, gone quickly.

That I spent the past few days hibernating. It has been COLD here in Ontario, especially with the wind chill...it has felt as cold as -30 here. Perfect reason to stay home, wrap yourself in blankets, read and watch TV/Netflix.

To be happy that How To Get Away With Murder is back! I love this show, but it's annoying how long of a hiatus they take between the "Winter Finale" and starting the second half of the season.

That I enjoyed Becoming by Michelle Obama. As a political daughter, it's always interesting for me to hear about other political families and their experience. It was a great, inspiring read.

To really like the sneak peeks of new Kate Spade branding! I like the updates they have made, and I'm looking forward to seeing the full re-brand next week!

That Gillian Anderson will be playing Margaret Thatcher on The Crown. I think that Gillian is a great actress and it'll be great to see how she portrays Margaret.

To not be excited about Celebrity Big Brother. I love Big Brother, but I couldn't get into last season's Celebrity Big Brother. I likely won't even bother watching.

That I am looking forward to my friend's birthday on Friday! She always puts on a great dinner and party. This year is a trailer park themed murder mystery!

To be, finally and slowly, organizing my condo. I redid my work area, and reorganized my front hall and bathroom. Still a ton of things to organize, but I am working on it.

That I do not understand the hype around Chris Pratt marrying Katherine Schwarzenegger.

To kinda want to watch You on Netflix. I am hearing so much about this show and how good it is. My hesitation? I read the book and was creeped out by it. I'm not sure I am brave enough to watch the show.

That I originally thought it was a joke when Tim Horton's came out with a Double Double Timbit. Now that I know it's not a joke, I kinda want to try one. For my non-Canadian friends, 'double double' is a coffee with two cream and two sugar. Timbit is a donut hole.

To be attempting to do some organizing of my condo. I've lived here for over two years, and while I have been unpacked within days of moving in, I haven't gotten around to setting up the condo to be super functional. I rearranged my bedroom on the weekend, there's still a lot of putting things back that needs to be done. but it's a start!

That I didn't watch the Golden Globes...I'm usually not interested in award shows, but I actually wanted to watch because I wanted to see Andy Samberg and Sandra Oh host. I half forgot that the show was on and was half busy rearranging furniture in my bedroom.

To not care that The Bachelor started last night. Since I did a social experiment three years ago and watched Ben Higgins season, I haven't watched an episode. I just don't get it.

That I am reading and enjoying Michelle Obama's book Becoming. This was my pick for my book club this month. I went back and forth between this book and The Paris Wife by Paula McLain, which is about Ernest Hewingway's first wife Hadley and their life together in Paris. The Paris Wife is on my reading list, and I will eventually read it.

To have spent a lot of time this month watching cheesy Christmas movies on Netflix. Tis the season!!

That Christmas is one week today!! Christmas Day is always fun for me, but I actually love the lead up to the day...time spent with family and friends, and enjoying the holiday season. Over the past month, I have spent a lot of time with people who mean the world to me and that I love most.

To have taken a blogging hiatus. Life was busy...and if I am being honest, I was burnt out.

That I worked on 98 events in 2018. This is only events that actually happened in 2018 and does not count any events taking place in 2019 that I worked on this year. It's also an increase of over 30 events from 2017 (which had an increase of 30 events from 2016).

To find myself, as a Canadian, entertained by what is going on with the US president. I feel for my American friends...I'm sorry,

That, after my trip out East, I understand why so many people love Canada's East Coast!! It's beautiful and the people are so friendly!!

To be sad that June is almost over. Summer has barely started and I feel like it's so close to being over.

That I saw Ocean's 8 on the weekend. I haven't seen any of the Ocean's movies, so I may have missed out on some of the backstory, but I really enjoyed the movie!!

To be excited that Big Brother starts this week!! I have found the past several seasons of BB US to be kind of boring and the cast to be repulsive. Here's hoping this season and cast are a lot better, decent, and entertaining.

That I am having day dreams bout night things in the middle of the afternoon (name that tune).

To think Kaela deserved to win Big Brother Canada, instead of Parras. Kaela was a boss all season and owned that game. The jury was bitter...but they also passed on every opportunity they had to evict her...so that was really on them.

That I am unprepared for my trip out East in less than two weeks!! I have flights booked and that's about it! Also, here's hoping WestJet doesn't go on strike.

To have tried Rock Burger for the first time on the weekend!! It was AMAZING!! Can't wait to go back!! I had the Buffalo Wing Dipper, and the Cheesecake burger...SO GOOD!!! This is a must try if you ever find yourself in Niagara Falls, NY.

That I stocked up on Peanut Butter Crunch Bars when I was in the US. These are so good and, sadly, not available in Canada.

To have discovered that Canada and the US have a tug of war every year on the Rainbow Bridge, at the international boarded. Canada won. Again.

That, besides my flight and accommodations, I have NOTHING planned for my trip out East later this month...I need to get on that!!

To have LOVED the Big Brother Canada cast this season (with the exception of two people, who were also the first two evicted)!!! Casting did an AMAZING job this year!!

That I am dying to host/plan (or attend) an event at Vantage Venues in Toronto!! It's such a beautiful and interesting space!! Plus the team there is so friendly and seems amazing!!

To be over Megan Markle. Done. Let's move on.

That I attempted and failed to clean and organize my closet- which was my big (and only) task this weekend. It will eventually get done. But I DID manage to unload the dishwasher, put away laundry, read two magazine, meal prep for the week, take out the recycling and garbage, and spend a ton of time outside. So you know...goals.

To be heartbroken for the Humboldt Broncos- their team, community, family, billets, friends, volunteers. We are all Broncos. We stand with you, we support you, we mourn with you.

That I finally have my laptop back. I was having issues for a few weeks, but a new hard drive- thankfully- was all I needed.

To not like Roseanne (TV show). I know people say it's funny and a great show. I don't get it...I don't find it funny...it's even a little boring.

That I had a great time in Ottawa last week. It was a work trip, so I was busy. It was nice to see colleagues, have a quick visit with my cousin, and had a number of successful meetings. I also met the cutest guy as I was crossing the street.

To attempt to coordinate a March Madness bracket challenge at my office. The person who did it last year is on mat leave, and she sent me the info in case I want to organize the bracket for the office. I think I'm going to...it was fun last year!

That I am an Ambassador for Gone Beachin' (affiliate link) an apparel and lifestyle brand. You can use my link to get 20% off.

To be excited for Big Brother Canada, which starts this week!!

That I did not watch the Oscars. As a Communication major who had to take film courses, my friends/classmates would refer to the Oscars as our Superbowl. Still not into it.

To be sad that Rick Nash and Ryan McDonagh are no longer New York Rangers. But I am happy that Ryan is united in Tampa with Ryan Callahan (STILL not over that trade) and Dan Girardi in Tampa!!

That I need to know, like the rest of the world, if Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir are in love with each other. Also, I want to be friends with them.

To be slowly booking my trip out East!! My flights were booked earlier this month, my Halifax hotel was booked awhile ago, and I just booked my Prince Edward Island accommodations on the weekend.

That Gossip Girl is back on Netflix!! I was in the middle of re-watching the first season when Netflix removed it

To be loving this Spring like weather we have had the past couple of weeks! It's been so warm and sunny. The downside is of course the ice jams and flooding...but Spring is coming!!

To be watching more TV than usual because of the Olympics. The Winter Olympics, in my opinion, are more interesting than the Summer Olympics.

That I had a fantastic time at the Grown Ups Read Things They Wrote As Kids (my favourite podcast) show last week! It was a lot of fun and really funny!!

To have a day off tomorrow! I always take my birthday off. Nothing really planned, but it will be a relaxing day. I'm looking forward to it!

That my flights for my trip out East are booked!! I'm so excited to be visiting Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia! Now I need to plan the rest of my trip- where to stay, what to do and see, and where to eat and shop.

To be unimpressed with Celebrity Big Brother...it's kind of boring.

That I didn't watch the Superbowl...not even for the commercials (they don't show all of the same commercials in Canada) or for the halftime show.

To be going to a live recording of Grown Ups Read Things They Wrote As Kids. This is my favourite podcast- so funny. I'm looking forward to going to the recording!

That I am slowly decluttering my place. I have a lot of stuff that I just don't need...some things I've never even used. In the process I'm finding thing I forgot I even owned.

To be disappointed in how quickly people are to judge others, jump to conclusions, and all without knowing a situation or bothering to look at the credibility of a source. Careers and reputations get ruined because someone is looking for their 15 minutes of fame.

That I want to live in a Slim Aaron's photo...the lifestyle and scenes depicted appeal to me. And the photos are just gorgeous.

To be more interested in- interested, not excited- Princess Eugenie's upcoming wedding than in Prince Harry's.

That I had a productive weekend- I cleaned out and set up my hall closet, tried a new recipe (will be on the blog likely next week), got a good start on the gift for my Galentine, cleaned out the container of "stuff I need to sort through and put away", cleaned out my paper files, and got my (personal) email inbox down from 150 unread messages to two!

To be glad January is basically over- one month closer to summer!

That I re-watched Grease Live a bunch of times over the weekend and have rekindled my crush on Aaron Tveit.

To have had fun at knitting night. I am not a knitter, but I made some progress on a scarf. Honestly, while last night was fun and social, knitting is a super relaxing activity.

That K.A. Tucker's new book, Keep Her Safe, comes out TODAY! She is one of my favourite author's and I can't wait to read her new book!

To have been a hermit most of the weekend. Sometimes you just need to take some time to relax and decompress. And sometimes you have been battling a cold and it just knocks the life out of you. Or you just need to make a dent in your Netflix list.

That I think "celebrities" should stop giving their kids stupid names...like West, Saint, and Chicago.

To have rekindled my love for hot chocolate. I've been drinking a cup or two every day.

That I am excited to be paired with my Galentine for the swap that Brittany (Viklund Made) and Candelles are hosting!

That I had a great time with friends on Friday night! The crazy, icy drive in and the blizzard drive home were worth it! We went out for dinner and then to see Pitch Perfect 3- which is such a funny movie!!

To be wanting the extreme cold back. It's been cold here, but milder, which has resulted in ice and snow. While the cold temperatures suck, it makes driving so, so, so much easier.

That my birthday is less than a month away and I have no plans. I have no idea what I want to do to celebrate.

To be going to a live recording of Grown Ups Read Things They Wrote As Kids. This is hands down my favourite podcast- it's so funny!! I'm supper excited that I'm going to get to see it live!!

To be seeing Pitch Perfect 3 on Friday (weather permitting)!! Back in September, some friends and I decided we would have a Pitch Perfect 3 date and see the movie together. This Friday is (hopefully) the day!!

That I did not watch the Golden Globes. I'm just not into those award shows...not even the pre-show to see what everyone's wearing. Just noted interested.

To be participating in Apartment Therapy's January Cure (there's still time to sign up). Everyday, they send you an email with a task for the day that will help you set up your home for a great year. This is my first year participating, but I am liking it.

That I like the extreme cold we have been getting- I prefer it because it's too cold to snow and I HATE driving in snow. Also, I am over winter...ready for the warm weather and the beach!

To not make new year resolutions. So many people make them, so few people keep them. I don't even bother. I did promise my guy best friend that I would focus more on me this year and that I would do things outside my comfort zone.

That I bought a car! I bought it right before Christmas and get to pick it up this week!! I'm excited that "buying a new car" is off my list of things to do.

To not be liking this crazy cold weather we have been getting! I want my summer weather back...and I want to go to the beach!

That I had a great week and a half off! The time leading up to Christmas was busy (and standard), but a lot of fun. The time between Christmas and NYE was relaxing, low key, and spent with family- including my cousins!!

To be thinking of Trent...15 years have gone by, but I think of you every day...so thankful to have known you. Forever remembered, always loved.
