Sunday Reading & Coffee

I always felt reading the Sunday newspaper and drinking coffee was a very grown up thing to do and something I should  be doing, so I did. While I no longer have a newspaper subscription, I still feel that a great Sunday includes coffee and reading.
With this concept, I decided each week- on Sunday- to share some of my favourite articles from the past week. So grab a cup of coffee (or your beverage of choice) and enjoy!

In honour of a long time friends wedding, which was yesterday, 41 Thoughts You Have Watching “Say Yes To The Dress”.

Healthy living, including healthy eating is so important. Fat, Salt and Sugar: A New Guide to Guilt-Free Snacking provides some new insight.

Pitch Perfect is one of my favourite movies, so I was happy to hear that This ‘Pitch Perfect 3′ News Is Aca-Awesome. Plus, I have to share Movies 9 Things You Never Knew About ‘Pitch Perfect’.

I love summer and these Best Scented Candles For Your Beach House are making me miss the beach.

Sunday Reading & Coffee

I always felt reading the Sunday newspaper and drinking coffee was a very grown up thing to do and something I should  be doing, so I did. While I no longer have a newspaper subscription, I still feel that a great Sunday includes coffee and reading.
With this concept, I decided each week- on Sunday- to share some of my favourite articles from the past week. So grab a cup of coffee (or your beverage of choice) and enjoy!
Whether or not we admit it, we all have (or want) an appreciation for the finer things in life. How to Be a Bon Vivant has some great tips on how to live well.

Elle Canada is one of my favourite magazines, and I love their column by Stephanie Gilman. Stephanie writes about rebooting her life after cancer and each month she takes on a new challenge- social media cleanse, CN Tour Edge Walk, improv class, and finding her new calling.

I have a tiny apartment, and after 3 years, I'm finally ready to decorate. 10 Mistakes To Avoid When Decorating A Small Bedroom has some great tips.

Flamingos are one of my favourite animals. I love them!! I'm not sure that I can pull off any of the looks from 15 Ways We're Wearing Flamingo Print This Summer, but a girl can dream.

Coffee & Reading

I always felt reading the Sunday newspaper and drinking coffee was a very grown up thing to do and something I should  be doing, so I did. While I no longer have a newspaper subscription, I still feel that a great Sunday includes coffee and reading.

I love being a millennial, but I agree our generation are not good conversationalists- and it drives me crazy! Millennials: It's Time to Start Talking to Strangers, should be mandatory reading.

There are some good points on this list, and some nice reminders too, so it's worth reading 20 Things To Do When You're 30 That Will Make Life Better At 50.

I jumped on the Epsom Salt bandwagon a few years ago, where I would use it in a bath or foot soak.There are so many more uses, and this article, 22 Uses For Epsom Salt – Why It Should be in Every Home & Garden, lists some of them.

Sunday Reading & Coffee

As already stated this week, I LOVE the Kentucky Derby, and even learned a few things reading 15 Facts You Didn't Know About The Kentucky Derby

Another thing I love, hockey. And hockey players. I mean, how can you not? 24 Reasons Why Hockey Players Are Actually Big, Cuddly Sweethearts.

Something else I love? Dance. There is so much truth in this article, 7 Valuable Life Lessons You Learn From Being A Dancer.

Knowing a guy in this band, and thinking this was a cute read, I just had to share River Town Saints present 10 Things To Remember To Bring On Tour.

I always felt reading the Sunday newspaper and drinking coffee was a very grown up thing to do and something I should  be doing, so I did. While I no longer have a newspaper subscription, I still feel that a great Sunday includes coffee and reading.

With this concept, I decided each week- on Sunday- to share some of my favourite articles from the past week. So grab a cup of coffee (or your beverage of choice) and enjoy!

One of my favourite stories of the week (partly because I wished this happened more often) was Gravity Payments CEO takes 90% pay cut to give workers huge raise.

My other favourite piece I cam across this week, because it was funny, 21 Times Canadians Were EASY TARGETS on Tumblr.

I honestly believe that experiences are so much better than things and this article, The Science Of Why You Should Spend Your Money On Experiences, Not Things, supports that outlook.

Something new I learned this week, and I think is kinda of cool, The Earth Has An Eerie Hum, And Now We Know What's Causing It.

"Empire Records" is one of my all time favourite movies a cult classic and essentially the 90's version of "The Breakfast Club". How "Empire Records" Became The Unlikely Film Of A Generation talks about how the film got made and became a cult classic.

It's so easy to get lost in the advice of others and to second guess yourself. List Of Things Other People Want You To Believe (That You Should Ignore) is a nice reminder that somethings aren't meant to be believed.

Even though Spring has just started, I am counting down the days until the summer! There are some great ideas listed on The Ultimate Summer Couples Bucket List and on 30 Hot Ideas For the Single Girl's Summer Bucket List.

I am not a fan of 'selfies" and I am in good company; Prince Harry Declares That He Is Anti-Selfie.

The biggest social media debate and controversy this week was whether or not a dress was white and gold (which I thought it was, based on the first photo I saw) or black and blue. This article explains what started everything and has pictures of the original dress, including from the store and settles once and for all the actual colour.

Sticking with the dress, The Science Of Why No One Agrees On The Color Of This Dress is an interesting read as to why people are seeing different things.

If you are wearing a great dress, you should be wearing a great lipstick; 21 Genius Lipstick Hacks Every Woman Needs To Know.

A show that I am currently obsessed with, and sad that the season finale aired this week, is How To Get Away With Murder. If you haven't watched this show, you should. We have had some cold and snowy nights (and days) recently, so I thought this article, How To Survive A Night In Your Car, would be vital to share.

9 Life Lessons I Learned From Being In A Sorority are so true and a nice reminder, even if you weren't part of Greek Life.

For 2015, I have set a couple of goals for myself, including connecting more with friends. This article, The Ties That Bind: Discovering The Power Of Female Friendship, goes nicely with that goal. Friendships are so important and worth the work.

I've known for awhile that drinking lemon water in the morning was good for you, but I didn't realize there were 7 Benefits Of Starting Your Day With Lemon Water.

Like so many others, I love to sleep!! This article, What Happens During Sleep?, shows why our bodies love sleep.

There is no denying we live in a Social Media World and that we are very dependent on technology. How Social Media Has Made Us Obsessed With Making Life Look Perfect is a reminder that a lot of life happens outside of social media.

Yet another study shows that red wine is good for you. This time, a glass of red wine is equivalent to one hour at the gym.

Going along with the wine theme...There Are Two Types Of Women: Red Wine Drinkers And White Wine Drinkers. I don't think this is true or accurate, but still a fun read. 

Moving away from wine and to one of my loves, books! I actually read this article a while back and just had to share, Book Lovers Are Obsessed With This Website.

Clueless is one of my favourite movies and I can't believe it's turning 20 this year! To celebrate, As If: 20 Underrated Moments Of Clueless Brilliance

Hope everyone has a great Sunday...I am spending it in our weekend home, up in rural Ontario. Lots of snow, but I have a cozy home to cuddle up in. It's Superbowl Sunday, but I will not be watching the game, commercials or halftime show...I'm just not interested. It'll be a lazy Sunday of reading, binge watching DVDs and just taking it easy. Sunday Reading & Coffee

After I graduated from University, I was gifted (at my request) a Sunday subscription to a Toronto newspaper, which I read every week while drinking coffee...I felt it was a very grown up thing to do and something I should  be doing, so I did. While I no longer have a newspaper subscription, I still feel that a great Sunday includes coffee and reading.

With this concept, I decided each week- on Sunday- to share some of my favourite reads from the past week. So grab a cup of coffee (or your beverage of choice) and enjoy these reads.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Smart, Pretty & Awkward should be a mandatory read.

January is Alzheimer's Awareness Month, and this Globe & Mail article talks about The 72%, which was this year's Awareness Campaign.

Personally, I like Miss Universe Canada's National Costume. I think it's unique and representative of Canada. Love it!!

This weekend is the NHL All-Star Weekend. It's a three day event; Fantasy Draft of Friday, Skills Competition on Saturday and the All-Star Game on Sunday. I love watching the Fantasy Draft, it's pretty entertaining. You can read (and watch) some of the highlights from the draft here.

As a blogger, I had to share 19 Ridiculously Useful Tips Every Blogger Should Know that I found on Buzzfeed.

I love the show Suits, so I was thrilled to see 10 Things Patrick J. Adams Can't Live Without in Toronto Life Magazine.

The start of a New Year, means resolutions. Flare Magazine editors shared their 2015 Resolutions, like not decluttering.

While I am against the word 'Selfie', I did enjoy Elle Canada's The Top 5 Reasons To Take A Selfie.
