There are so many things that I love about this time of year- the holidays, end of the year reflection, time with family and friends, and the World Juniors.
Like most Canadians, I spend the days after Christmas cheering on Team Canada at the World Juniors, which Canada also happens to be hosting this year. In honour of the tournament and all of the Team Canada players- past, present, future:
There are a lot of things that I love about Christmas...baking, decorating, the holiday spirit, time with family and friends, movies, tv specials, and, of course, music. While there are a ton of Christmas songs that I love, this is one of my favourites, so I had to share it (and I'm pretty sure I've shared it every year since it came out)!!
I am a beach baby...I love being at the beach, I love warm weather, I love summer. Love.
But I also love Christmas. I love the movies, music, spirit, baking, card sending, gift hunting, parties and socials, decorating.
To kick-off this holiday season (which I actually did November 12), I thought I would share some of my favourite blog posts from past Christmas seasons!
I have been aware of Sam Hunt for a couple of years and I do like his music. I've heard his new single, Body Like A Back Road, a number of times over the past couple of months, and have always liked it. Recently, as in the past week, I have been playing this song on repeat...maybe with the volume turned about a bit...I'm sure my neighbours love it.
I am always late to the game when it comes to Netflix's because I am not good at binge watching anything. I am really enjoying The Crown...it's as good as everyone said!
I was in a car accident a few years ago and have made muscle issues since then. I go for a massage every four weeks to help manage the pain. I haven't been in 8 weeks and I am in so much pain. I do have a massage booked for this week, so hopefully that helps.
Happy Wednesday! Wednesday is such a hard day of the week...you're so far from last weekend, and still so far from the upcoming weekend. Mid-week dance parties can help make the day a bit better!! This song is one I have had on repeat the past few weeks...it's fun to sing and dance a long too. And it always makes me feel happier!

After years of blogging, I have decided to jump on the 'currently' band wagon. I have always enjoyed reading other bloggers posts, so I thought I would do my own. Here is what I am 'currently' for January!
I can't remember the last time I felt this relaxed! I have gotten rid of a big stress in my life, which has helped. Also, I'm sure taking a week and a half off from work helped too!
I got a Sodastream Genesis for Christmas. It's great to be able to make my own pop and flavoured water, but it's also great just to have homemade soda water too!
There is a radio station (My Star 102.5) in Buffalo, NY that plays Christmas music starting in early November. I am lucky that this station has a large frequency and I can listen to it event if I am 3 or 4 hours away. Plus, with the internet, I can listen anywhere. Once they start playing Christmas music, this becomes the only station I play in my car. I just love listening to Christmas music and take every opportunity I get to listen.
There are a ton of Christmas songs that I love and I'm hard pressed to pick a favourite. I am not claiming any of the songs below are my favourite, but they are definitely up there! Or, these were just the first five songs that came to mind when I asked myself "What are five of your favourite Christmas songs?"
I have decided, after years of blogging, that I would jump on the

I got my dad a Soda Stream last year for Christmas and he loves it and uses it all the time! I've been known to make a bottle or two for myself and bring it home with me...so I would love to have one of my own.
I received the Loch and Key Scarf in two different subscriptions boxes and I LOVE it! It's so comfortable, lightweight but warm. I like that it can be used as a scarf or a blanket- which is what I use it for.

September! As much as I LOVE summer, September is my favourite month. The weather is still warm enough for the beach and other favourite summer activities, but the humidity is down and the tourists are gone. Plus fun fall activities like fairs and homecoming.
The Tragically Hip is the quasi-essential Canadian band. Everyone knows who The Hip are, and if you're not fan, you still appreciate their music and can acknowledge what they mean to the Canadian music industry, and Canada as a whole. When I was in University, I wrote paper on what The Hip meant to our National Identity and how they embodied Canada as a country and a culture.
It was announced a few months ago that Gord Downie was battling cancer and that The Hip would embark on one final tour. The last show of the tour-the last Tragically Hip concert- is tomorrow in Kingston, Ontario. It is a sold out show, but it will be broadcast live on CBC and many communities are doing screenings.
Like many Canadians, I am a Hip fan. My favourite album is My Music @ Work and in honour of The Hip and Gord Downie, I thought I would share the title track of that album:

I love summer and this warm weather we are having...but I feel like I am melting- it is so hot! Lot's of extreme heat warning this year. I am not complaining...I just wish I could be beach/poolside 24/7 in this weather.

I had some shocking and upsetting news late last week. Yesterday (which is when I wrote this post) was the first time I was really able to process that news. My heart hurts more than I thought it would. But I know things will be ok, everything happens for a reason, and that things will work out the way they were meant too.
I am on the hunt for a 2017 agenda. I usually get a Lilly Pulitzer agenda, but am thinking about trying a Kate Spade agenda this year. I wouldn't mind being the owner of the Kate Spade agenda pictured here.
