Beautiful British Columbia

Everyone knows how much I love Canada and for the longest time, I have wanted to showcase Canada on my blog. So, I've decided to ask Canadian bloggers to answer 5 questions about their province.

This week, Raj, from Pink Chai Style, is answering questions about British Columbia.

1. Where are you from:
I'm a West Coast girl through and through. I was born in Victoria, raised in Surrey and have lived in Vancouver and Abbotsford, but now my family is settled in Surrey once again.

2. Favourite thing about your province:
I'm totally biased I know, but I'm convinced BC is the most beautiful province in the country. Even though I've lived here my whole life, the natural beauty can still take my breath away. I also love that the city culture and nature are so intertwined. You can be standing in down town Vancouver and staring at the mountains, just stunning!

3. What is your region (province and/or city) known for:
I think BC and particularly the lower mainland is famous for our addiction to coffee (Starbucks), yoga culture (Lululemon) and our love of the great outdoors. We are adventurous people that are also know for recycling, being good to the Earth, and being very laid back.

4. Where to:
a) Stay:

So many choices! My favourite is Osoyoos beach, it's often overlooked, but there are so many great little family run hotels in the area and it is beautiful in the summer

b) Eat:
There is so much good fusion and ethnic food in the Lower Mainland it is unbelievable. My two favourites are; Nuba Restaurant in Gastown Vancouver which serves such yummy Lebanese food, and Tasty Indian Bistro in Surrey that makes Indian food that rivals my mamma (and that is no easy feat!) If you have time also check out the amazing food carts around the city, there are too many good ones to name.
c) Go/what to do:
Just a few of my favourite spots in and around Vancouver; Stanley Park - there is no comparison, Capilano Suspension Bridge, White Rock Beach (they serve the best ice cream in the world here!), Green Timbers Urban Forest.

5. A "must know" about your province:

If you are coming to BC no matter what the month you need to be prepared for rain. Everyone already knows this about the West Coast, yet they act surprised when it starts to shower!

  1. I love this Canadian focussed feature and you've picked another great one!

I 100% agree that British Columbia is beautiful. I have been there many times and hope to make it back again soon. The size of the trees in Stanley Park are incredible and a must see.
