Hey! It's Ok

To be happy that Gary did not win Big Brother Canada. I don't think he should've made it to the final two (thanks Canada for voting him back in). I was an Emmett fan since day won and if he couldn't win, I've glad it was Jillian.

To be looking forward to a dance recital next weekend. It's for my old studio and it's the 25th Recital! It should be fun and I'm actually going with some girls I used to dance with.

To have a day full of athletic activity ahead of me: Tai Chi this morning, Pickle Ball at lunch and bowling tonight.
That I spent most of the weekend sitting on the balcony. The weather was so beautiful and it was great to just sit outside both with friends socializing and by myself reading.

That I finally used the slow cooker I got for Christmas. I made something I found on Pinterest...check back later this month for that experience.

5 Questions- Hillary Butler

A couple of weeks ago, I came across a blog post that featured some beautiful art work by Hillary Butler. I headed over to her website to look at more of her art work. All of her paintings are so beautiful but I think Serenity Now is my favourite piece. Anyway, I knew that I wanted Hillary to participate in 5 Questions and I was so, so, so excited when she said yes!
I love Hillary's answers...here's what she had to say:

1. Something on your bucket list:
Hike part of the Pilgrimage Trail to Santiago de Compostela in Spain.

2. Best piece of advice and/or favourite saying/quote:

Oh- so many to pick from!! "Comparison is the thief of joy" would have to be the top one that is running through my head these days. I need to be reminded of that every minute of every day!

3. Favourite place:  San Francisco
a) Where to stay: Hennessey House, Napa
b) Where to eat:  Farrallon's, Union Square
c) What to see/do: Martin Lawrence Galleries, head out to wine country, check out SF's amazing farmer's market, ride the cable cars, sketch at Golden Gate Bridge Park

4. You're given $10,000 and 24 hours to spend it. You can't give it to other people, invest it or save it. What would you do:
Hands down- I'd buy as much of a Chagall original as I could, although I think this would only buy me a signed print :).

5. Historical figure or fictional character you'd like to be:

Well, I'd have to make sure I went back to a time were there was toilet paper... Probably a member of the Hemingway/ Fitzgerald/ Stein meeting of the minds when they all lived in Paris. Oh, to be part of that synergy of young creatives who undoubtedly changed the way we currently view modern art and literature.
HUGE thank you to Hillary for taking time to answer these questions. I really appreciate it!

Sunday Social- 4

Happy Sunday! What a beautiful weekend! I spent most of it outside, which was ideal. I also saw a play at the local community theatre on Friday with some friends. It was pretty fun.

Anyway, on to Sunday Social...

Sunday Social

1. 4 favorite things to do on a weekend
The answer to this depends on the season... So I'm going to answer this with four things I did this weekend:
  • Watch hockey
  • See a play
  • Sit on the balcony
  • Spend time with friends
2. 4 favorite things about your best friend
Also hard to answer because I have more than one best friend. So, instead I'm going to say one thing about four (well...five, one point is about two people) of my best friends:
  • I've known her since I was four
  • We were roommates in University
  • I try to have brunch with them every time I'm home
  • No one believes in me more than he does
3. 4 things you would do with $100,000
  • Buy a new car
  • Invest some
  • Give some to charity
  • Go back to Florida
4. 4 favorite books you've ever read
I read a TON so it's hard for me to pick four favourites...so here are four random books I love:
  • Prep: A Novel
  • The Great Gatsby
  • Valley of the Dolls
  • Jackie, Ethel, Joan: The Women of Camelot
5. 4 favorite snack foods
  •  Little Debbie Peanut Butter Crunch (which is not available in Canada...boo. If you are American...please feel free to send me a couple of boxes!)
  • Crackers...especially the Ritz Bites
  • Smarties (Not available in the US...I will trade for Peanut Butter Crunch)
  • Fruit...I really like green grapes, pineapple and strawberries
6. 4 things that you must do daily
  • Drink water
  • Talk to someone...I need human contact
  • Read
  • Check my e-mail
